With the season coming into the final stretch, the 1st XI remain top while the other teams can still reach their objectives.
The
1sts remain top thanks to a nervy win over Boyne Hill. Peter Ongondo
took another 4 wickets as Boyne Hill were bowled out for 146, but when
Chesham found themselves at 90-6 it looked a long way off. For the
second week running Matt Watson was the hero as his 32* saw the side
home.
The 2nd XI gave themselves a promotion lifeline as they beat
British Airways. A fine bowling performance saw British Airways skittled
for 104, with Steve Ayres leading the attack with 3 wickets and Chesham
got home by 3 wickets as Pete Clifford hit a crucial 29*.
The 3rd XI
continued their recent poor form as they drew with Hillingdon Manor.
Martin Wheeler took 4 wickets as Hillingdon were held to a chaseable
total, but too many wickets were lost at key times and the side settled
for the draw.
There was some good news for the 4th XI as they
defeated Hayes by 4 wickets. Umar Aslam took 4 wickets as Hayes were
bowled out for 114 and Chesham's reply always seemed reasonably
comfortable as they got home.
On Sunday, both sides faced Chingford
and both sides were in winning positions when the games were rained off.
Andy Goddard hit a ton for the 1sts as they reached 190 and had
Chingford 40-3 when the rain came. The 2nds were 190-1 off 31 overs when
the rain came down at Chingford, with Mark Hughes-D'aeth stranded on
96*.
