Residents in Chesham and Amersham are being urged to respond to the government's HS2 consultation before it ends on July 29.

Every person in Britain is currently being consulted on the Government's proposals for the extension of a High Speed Rail network (HS2). With only a few days left to respond to the consultation, time is running out for Bucks residents to make sure their voices are heard before it is too late to have their say.

Martin Tett, Leader of Buckinghamshire County Council and Chairman of 51m, the alliance of 14 councils that have come together to challenge the evidence base about the HS2 project, said "Don't leave it up to someone else. Act today. It is vital that we all send a strong, clear response to central government. There is information to help you respond to the consultation on the www.51m.co.uk website."

Councillor Nick Rose, Leader of Chiltern District Council said "It's important your voice is heard. This is the one and only chance to have your say on the £33billion HS2 project which if it goes ahead will have a devastating affect on not only our area but elsewhere in the country."

Councillor Adrian Busby, Leader of South Bucks District Council: "Your views count, make sure you get them heard, now. You can make a difference so please don't sit back and hope it will go away."

Councillor David Carroll, Deputy Leader of Wycombe District Council said:"It is so important that everyone who feels strongly sends their comments to the Department for Transport before the closing date. A message needs to be sent that neither the business or environmental cases stack up."
