Two men arrested in Chesham
PC Hailey Goodwin, from the Chesham neighbourhood policing team, said: "We are working closely with the RSPCA and carried out warrants at properties in Shelley Road, Cresswell Road and Bachelors Close under the Animal Welfare Act.
"These warrants are as a result of concerns coming from the community that dogs in the area were being bred for fighting, which is illegal.
"Although we have had no further reports of any dog fighting in Chesham since this ongoing investigation started we are still following up lines of enquiry which has led us to carry out the warrants.
"No dogs have been seized from the properties but two people have been arrested for offences under the Animal Welfare Act.
"Dog fighting was raised as a concern by members of the community last year and I hope that this work makes the reassurance that we do listen and will do all that we can to address any issues local residents might have."
A 44-year-old man arrested from a house in Shelley Road and a 25-year-old man arrested from a house in Bachelor Way are both currently in police custody.
Comments
I recently got a puppy and he quickly became the love of my life. He has a definite personality and is so loving and protective of his owners. I can't imagine the torture these poor dogs endure, it's very cruel and agree something should be done!

ReportI find this really frightening. The whole dangerous dog issue is getting more and more serious and something needs to be done. I think it's time that dog passports were made compulsory - at least it might make it harder for people like this to own dogs in the first place.
