Record GCSE results at Chesham Grammar School

Chesham Grammar School in White Hill, Chesham, is celebrating a record set of GCSE results this year.

Jill Henderson, Deputy Head said it was record results this year from "an extremely able and talented year group who have been a genuine pleasure to teach".

One hundred and twenty one students achieved five or more A*/A grades; an increase of over 8% on last year.

Top student, and highest achieving boy, Thomas Dunne gained 9 A*s and 1 A whilst the honour for top girl was shared by six students who each gained 8 A*s and 2 As.

Combining academic success and sporting achievements, Katie Dunne gained an impressive 3 A*s and 2 As whilst a member of the Lawn Tennis Association Academy, taking part in tournaments all over Europe, including Junior Wimbledon.

Luke Morrison, who understandably gained an A* in Sports Science to compliment his 4 As and 4 Bs, was studying for his GCSEs whilst representing England in the Under 19 Rugby Team, playing three years above his age.
